Retros Gallery: Your Destination for Timeless Mid Century Modern Furniture

Sustainable and attentive, Retros has been stirred up from the beginnings by a beautiful design of life itself.
A fine balance between a natural instinct of Retros Founder and the insight on 20th century design, Retros organically took shape starting 2008. In time Retros built a reputation of being a go-to place for rare, valuable and timeless Mid-century Modern pieces.
We partnered with Lightaholic Studio—one of Romania’s largest photo-video studios—to launch our largest space yet.
That year, visionary designer Corina Olaru joined Retros as creative director and later became the owner. With a multidisciplinary background in photography, advertising, and interior design, Corina brought new creative energy to the brand. She previously founded Room12, a boutique aparthotel in Primăverii, and Artful Living, Romania's first premium lifestyle services app.
This marked the debut of Retros Gallery, a curated gallery space within Room12 on Str. Moliere 12-14. Corina personally designed the apartments using mid-century modern furniture from Retros and curated photographic artworks.
We launched a new two-level, 1400 sqm showroom in a renovated former mattress factory. Designed as our flagship location, this space fully embodies the Retros Gallery experience—showcasing our most extensive collection of vintage mid-century modern furniture. It serves as our brand's central hub, where visitors can explore the full scope of our vision, craftsmanship, and design philosophy.
The official opening event of our new showroom at Str. Duetului 54 was held in collaboration with Galeria 146, a contemporary art gallery known for experimental exhibitions and supporting emerging talent in Bucharest. The event brought together prominent interior designers, architects, cultural personalities, influencers, and art lovers, celebrating the intersection of collectible design and contemporary art.
Retros Gallery continues to shape the dialogue between vintage aesthetics and contemporary living.
