The Lens dining table by Patricia Urquiola for B&B Italia, launched in 2003, is a striking combination of advanced materials and optical depth—designed to elevate any modern interior.
While its structure is minimalist, its surface is anything but. Thanks to a unique lamination process, the optical glass top creates remarkable depth. Moreover, the table’s clean lines and reflective finish make it ideal for contemporary spaces. As a result, it bridges high-end design with architectural elegance.
Minimalist in structure, maximalist in detail.
At first glance, the table appears sleek and restrained. But a closer look reveals a captivating complexity: the tabletop is made from two sheets of glass, fused together with an internal film that creates an optical illusion of depth and movement. Depending on how light hits the surface, a delicate grid of reflections emerges—adding texture, rhythm, and dimension to the design.
Set atop a streamlined dark metal frame, the table’s floating top contrasts beautifully with its solid geometric base. The result is a sculptural piece that feels simultaneously technical and ethereal — ideal for interiors that blend architectural precision with emotional resonance.
At 235 cm long, the Lens table seats up to 8, making it as practical as it is poetic.
